Shop-DopaDrop opens to the public on 30 October. Here's the honest story of building a fidget and sensory store for brains like ours, shiny distractions included.

Big news first. Shop-DopaDrop is opening to the public on 30 October, and we are very, very excited.

Now the honest bit. Getting here took a while.

It started with one simple plan. Build a store full of fidgets, stim toys and sensory gear for brains like ours. Easy. A few weeks. Done.

Then we opened the colour palette. Neon colours. Then a thirteenth idea. Then a better shade of pink. Then a hero banner. Then a different hero banner. Then a black background. Then a pearlescent finish, because ooooooo!!! shiny.

Where were we? Right. The store.

That is how it went, if we're being real. Start one job, spot something sparkly, follow the sparkle, find a better idea, forget the first job, remember the first job, panic a little, start again. Our brains do not do straight lines. They do loops, detours and surprise tangents. Building Shop-DopaDrop turned out to be a very on-brand experience.

But here's the thing. The detours made it better.

Every distraction left a mark. The loud colours. The quirky toys on the banners. The tiny details you only spot on the third look. A store built by brains that wander has a lot of wandering baked in, and we think that's the good part.
